Sussex Olympics!

This isn’t the traditional Javelin, Marathon, and Swimming event - It includes everything from creating the medals to inventing the games using the things around you, working as teams, not just in the spirit of "competition" but also in terms of co-operation.

We had a small but committed turn out to this event and everyone had a great time. The parents joined together to make medals and devise an opening and closing ceremony, which included dance and music.  I was very impressed!!

The kids picked countries and produced a flag for their team which represented their country. Each team also created two games, which they explained to the group and then played.  We had games from a pentathlon obstacle event through to a rugby / skittles game which involved a lot of noise! They all did a great job both working together and competing for the medals!

We finished off with a closing closing ceremony and medals, and as luck would have it everyone was a winner!

Many thanks to Gary A for the organisation of a great day.
